Those tiny hands. Those little toes. The wrinkles and creases that change almost overnight.

As a mum myself, I know how quickly it goes. That’s why I love what I do — turning those fleeting little details into something you’ll have long after they’ve grown out of them.

Baby, family and pet casting in Braintree, Essex

Babies

 — newborn hand and foot casting, safe from birth. Framed casts, freestanding statues, hand and foot combinations, milestone keepsakes.

Children and families

 — toddlers and older children, sibling keepsakes as frames or statues, family collections, parent-and-child clasping hands, adult and grandparent pieces.

Also

 — pet paw casts, personalised jewellery, gift vouchers, and one-off pieces made to your own idea.

Home visits

 — if leaving the house feels like too much, I can come to you for a small additional fee.

I use a skin-safe casting mixture made from natural seaweed — the same family of material dentists use.

How it works

1. We chat first, so you arrive knowing roughly what we’re creating.
2. Taking the cast — each hand or foot is dipped into a lukewarm mixture the consistency of thick custard, which sets in seconds. It slides straight back out, clean and comfortable.
3. Choosing your finish — we’ll go through frames, mounts and colours together, side by side, so you can see exactly how they’ll look.
4. Made and collected — each frame is handmade to order, and I’ll let you know as soon as yours is ready.

Appointment:

 around 30 minutes, longer for bigger pieces like a family frame.

Don’t worry about a wriggly baby

Your baby doesn’t need to be asleep or still. The material sets fast enough to cope with wriggling, plenty of parents feed during the appointment, and I have distractions on hand for toddlers.

Babies, toddlers and pets don’t always follow the plan — that’s absolutely fine. I work around you, with no pressure and no rush.

Bespoke finishes and framing

Your cast is finished by hand using high-quality materials, including liquid metal coatings.

You can choose from:

• A wide range of colours and finishes
• Handmade, bespoke frames
• Over 30 mount colours
• Added text with names, dates or weights
• Your own photograph included, if you’d like one

Every piece is made to suit your style. If you’re not sure what you want, that’s normal — most people aren’t. I’ll guide you through it.
